Dear INquirer

Dear

A church is a spiritual family.  As in all families, there is love and sometimes sorrow, joy and sometimes pain.  Unlike our human families, however, we become members of a spiritual family by choice.  Such a choice leads to great blessing, which is why I am writing to you today.

We rejoice in the presence of all who come through our doors, and I give thanks for what you have already contributed to Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes (ASA) in time, talent and treasure.  With this letter, I would like to invite you to explore our parish further.

I am reminded of the words of Jesus (from Matthew’s gospel, chapter 6, verse 21): “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. Jesus tells us that where we invest ourselves concretely is where our truest selves will reside.  When the investment is one of sincere love, the door then opens widely to participating in God’s work in our midst.

I believe that God is blessing Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes, and I am convinced that we are at a turning point, poised for great possibilities.  We are learning, in new ways, to listen to the Holy Spirit in the heart of our worship and through one another.  And, slowly but surely, we are growing—in faith, hope and love and in number.  The deliberateness of our parishioners plays no small part in this.  I invite you to come a little closer, to see if perhaps the Lord is calling you to journey more deliberately for this chapter of your life.

I would be happy to meet with you and chat about this, if ever you would like.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Dominique
