What ASA Membership
Looks Like

A member of Church of the Ascension & Saint Agnes makes a commitment to:

  • Live as a child of God, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ in word and in deed.

  • Pray often for fellow parishioners, for parish leadership, and for the neighborhood and beyond.

  • Attend Sunday services regularly (at least bi-monthly), as well as special services and events.

  • Be an ambassador of God’s hospitality, actively reaching out to and engaging fellow parishioners and guests/visitors on Sundays, at parish functions and on other occasions.

  • Be open to learning and growth (participate in parish theological formation).

  • Be a generous steward of time, talent and treasure (be a “contributor of record”, i.e., make an official pledge for the coming year; get involved in a ministry).

  • Be a “team-player” who builds trust, communicates directly and openly, maintains confidentiality, encourages the voice of all regardless of opinion or position and helps others to find their place in the parish.

  • Be a servant in the larger community.

Per parish by-laws, a member who is a “qualified voter” (able to vote at the parish Annual Meeting) is a person who (a) has been recorded in the Parish Register (which includes documentation of Baptism), is (b) at least sixteen (16) years of age; (c) in good standing of the Episcopal Church, as defined in Title I, Canon 17, Sections 1-3, of the Canons of the General Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church; (d) a contributor of record to the Parish.
