New Member Class
If you have been attending ASA for a while and are not a member, please give prayerful consideration to joining the parish.
A new member class is being formed. The new member class will help connect you to the ASA community and to the meaning of life. It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. (see Ephesians 1:11)
Besides introducing ASA, the new member class serves as preparation for confirmation or reception into the Episcopal Church.
Confirmation is one of the ancient sacraments of the church. It involves making a public affirmation of faith, recommitting to the responsibilities of baptism, and receiving the "laying on of hands" by the Bishop, who lays hands on your head and prays for the Holy Spirit to strengthen and empower you to love and minister.
Reception is a ceremony welcoming a person confirmed in another Christian tradition (Roman Catholic or Eastern Orghodox) into the Episcopal Church.
Confirmation and reception will be offered, followed by a formal rite welcoming new members into the parish at a Sunday morning mass.
